On the darkest days,
the sun won't shine,
the stars won't twinkle,
only the dark clouds will swirl.
Do you know what's worse
than the darkness that engulfs you?
That you don't know if
the sun and the stars forgot their routine,
or you just forgot to open your eyes.
Rain isn't so bad after all.
It's gloomy yes,
but it's also refreshing, purifying.
For a moment it's just
the tip-tap washing all your scars.
They say it's about perspective.
Light a candle if it's dark,
or simply strike a match.
But if it burns all my bridges,
how am I supposed to
get to the other side of the tunnel?
The stars might still be here,
behind all the clouds.
There might be the greenest valley,
outside the tunnel.
You don't know if that's true,
and it's okay.
Sometimes it's okay,
to be uncertain, to be skeptical.
To embrace the darkness,
but not want to be one with it.
And if somehow,
you see light somewhere,
hold onto it,
for hope has always been a wonder.
